Who is He?
Alexander was born in Pella, the capital of Macedonia, in July 356 BC. His parents were Phillip the second of Macedon and his wife Olympias. Sadly, his father was assassinated and Alexander inherited a powerful kingdom. He quickly dealt with enemies at home and secured his Macedonian power within Greece. Growing stronger in power, he set out to conquer the Persian empire.
Against overwhelming odds, he led his army to victories across the Persian territories of Asia Minor, Syria and Egypt without suffering a single defeat.
The young king of Macedonia, leader of the Greeks, overlord of Asia Minor and pharaoh of Egypt became 'great king' of Persia at the age of 25.
